Website Review: “To Kevin’s English Lesson Page

This webpage has many lesson plans that include a wide variety of writing activities. The teacher can adapt these lesson plans to his or her own classroom needs. Besides, each lesson plan (LP) comes with a quick overview about the content and the grade level to which it applies. For instance, the introduction of a lesson plan says with which grades the teacher has used the given lesson. Each of the activities involves something fun to do instead of just sitting around and following a text book format that may become boring after a while. The webpage includes activities that deal with creative thinking, vocabulary building, expository writing, creative writing, and many other topics of interests for the language arts classroom.
This webpage has a simple layout. One does not need to be an outstanding computer literate. Each lesson plan has a link, and one can look for the theme, click on it, and modify the LP to meet the needs of the lesson one wants to teach. For instance, if the students are reading the outsider’s, the teacher could use the lesson plans connected to ideas expressed from a different perspective, a different character. The students can see how the telling of an event changes depending on who tells the story.
